Kay Jewelers Theft
July 05, 2022

On Thursday, June 16th at approximately 3:45pm a male black subject entered the Kay Jewelers store at the Fayette Mall.  The subject indicated he was interested in purchasing a specific type of jewelry and an employee removed that jewelry out of the jewelry case and laid it on the counter.  The subject then grabbed the jewelry and fled the store without paying for it.  The value of the jewelry was several thousand dollars.

Meadow Lane/New Circle Homicide
June 27, 2022

At around 5:57  p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022, officers responded to the 400 block of East New Circle Road, near the intersection of Meadow Lane,  for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

 

The Fayette County Coroner identified Eric Boone, 42, as the man killed in the shooting.

Green Acres Homicide
June 20, 2022

At around 1:16 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022, officers responded to the area of Green Acres Park in the 1000 block of LaSalle Road for a call of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims, a 49-year-old male named James Henry Bost Jr and a 20-year-old female named Amaya Victoria Taylor-Sandifer, were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Fayette County Coroner.

 

Three additional male victims were later found at a local hospital, suffering from reported non-life-threatening gunshot wound injuries.

The Castle Theft-Nicholasville
June 13, 2022

On Monday, May 23rd, 2022 at approximately 1:00pm both subjects below entered The Castle Pawn and Jewelry store in Nicholasville.  After spending an hour in the store one of the suspects requested to look at two necklaces and an employee ultimately placed them on the counter.  Soon after, one of the suspects took the jewelry from the counter and both fled the store.  They quickly got into a white passenger car and fled the area.

Verizon Robbery
May 30, 2022

On Thursday, 05/19/2022 at approximately 10:30 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the Verizon store located in the 2300 block of Nicholasville Road.  Two male black individuals entered the store with their faces covered and one of the suspects displayed a firearm.  Both employees were restrained by the suspects before ultimately taking thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise.  The suspects ultimately exited out the rear door of the building with the stolen goods.

Twelfth Street Vehicle Theft
May 23, 2022

On Wednesday, March 23 a resident in the 100 block of Twelfth Street reported that her vehicle had been stolen the previous night.  She advised her white Ford Transit van was parked in her driveway at the time of the theft.  Upon reviewing video from an adjacent neighbor, the suspect unlawfully climbed the victim’s fence her in backyard, retrieved vehicle keys and subsequently unlocked her van and drove away with it.  The vehicle was recovered abandoned several days later but the identity of the suspect is still unknown.

Russell Cave Homicide
May 16, 2022

At around 11:13 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2022, officers responded to the 1500 block of Russell Cave Road for a report of multiple gunshot wound victims. When officers arrived, they located two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The first victim, a 40-year-old male, was suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim, a 51-year-old male, was suffering from reported non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

 

The Coroner’s Office identified the deceased 40 year old male as Armond Lukes.

Magee's Bakery Burglary

On Monday, May 2nd at approximately 9:50 pm a suspect used force to make unlawful entry into Magee’s Bakery at 726 East Main Street.  The suspect removed a safe containing cash and ultimately fled in an older model singly cab white pickup truck.

Endon Drive Package Theft

On Monday, April 11th, 2022 a package was stolen off of the front porch of a residence in the 1800 block of Endon Drive.  Video revealed a black Dodge Charger park adjacent to the residence on the street.  A male white or male Hispanic exited the vehicle and then walked up to the front porch and removed the package.

Morrow Alley Truck Theft
April 25, 2022

On Tuesday, April 5th, a citizen called the Lexington Police Department to report their vehicle had been stolen from the 300 block of Morrow Alley.  The next day an Officer located the vehicle in a parking lot in the 1400 block of Leestown Road.  Although the vehicle itself was recovered several person items in the vehicle were missing when the owner received his vehicle back.  The below suspect was seen parking and exiting the stolen vehicle in the parking lot on Leestown Road.

Cold Case Homicide; 4th/Ohio Street
April 18, 2022

On Monday, July 2nd 2018 Officers with Lexington Police Department were dispatched to the area of 4th Street near Ohio Street reference shots fired.  When they arrived a man was located on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound.  The deceased victim was identified by the Coroner as Christopher Snow, 32 years old.  It was determined he was shot by someone else as his death has been ruled a homicide.

Package Theft on Cantrill

On Wednesday, March 2nd around 3:30pm the below suspect walked on the porch of a residence in the 1600 block of Cantrill Drive.  The suspect simply picked up a package that had been delivered by Amazon and walked off of the property therefore stealing an item that was delivered to the resident of that address.

Flag Burning
March 28, 2022

On Sunday, March 20th two suspects walked in front of a residence on the 3000 block of Laredo Drive.  The suspects set a fire to a Pride flag the owner had installed on the front of his residence.  One of the suspects filmed the criminal act with his phone before they both walked way.  This has been classified as a hate crime.

Gabriel Brothers Theft
March 21, 2022

On Wednesday, March 2nd at approximately 1430 hours the below subject entered a retail store in the 3000 block of Richmond Road. The subject reached into a shopping cart and unlawfully took a purse belonging to one of the patrons in the store. The purse and contents inside had a value over $1,000.

Tates Creek Centre Jewelry Store Theft
March 14, 2022

At approximately 4:00pm on February 5th a subject entered a jewelry store located at Tates Creek Centre, 4101 Tates Creek Drive.  The individual spent several minutes looking at multiple high value diamonds with an employee.  It wasn’t until after the individual left that the employee realized a diamond was missing from one of the sleeves.  After surveillance video was reviewed it was determined that the suspect did conceal one of the diamonds in his palm just before leaving.

Liberty Road Trailer Theft

At approximately 5:40am on February 14th 2022, a beige truck pulled adjacent to a trailer on the property of a business located in the 1900 block of Liberty Road.  The truck then backup up to the trailer and connected it just before the vehicle drove away with the trailer in two.  The value of the trailer was several thousand dollars.

Link-Belt Burglary

At approximately 1:50pm on December 27th an individual unlawfully entered a business in the 2600 block of Palumbo Drive.  The suspect then took numerous personal items from various employees’ workspaces and subsequently exited the building.

Ulta Theft
February 21, 2022

At approximately 2:10pm on January 3rd, 2022 an individual walked into a business in the 1900 block of Pavilion Way.  The suspect then removed merchandise from the shelves throughout the store and placed them in bags she was carrying.  The suspect then exited the store without paying for the items as multiple alarms went off.  The total value of the items taken was several thousand dollars.

At Home store fire
February 07, 2022

At approximately 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021, Lexington Fire crews responded to the At Home store located at 1996 Pavilion Way in Hamburg following a report of smoke in the structure. Upon arrival, fire crews found visible smoke and flames in the store and upgraded the incident to a working structure fire. The store’s sprinkler system activated and contained the fire to the area of origin. The commercial business sustained heavy fire, smoke, and water damage. Fire Investigators conducted an origin and cause investigation and determined the fire was intentionally set.

Newtown Court Homicide
January 31, 2022

Officers responded to the 1000-block of Newtown Pike around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, August, 16 for a report of a large disorder with shots fired. Upon arrival officers located the 18-year-old victim deceased.  The Fayette County Coroner’s office has identified the victim as Mykel Waide of Lexington.  

 

Three additional victims were transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
