FROM APPROXIMATELY MID SEPTEMBER TO PRESENT, LEXINGTON POLICE HAVE RESPONDED TO SEVERAL CAR BREAK INS IN CITY PARKS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF TOWN.  THE SUSPECTS ARE STEALING THE VICTIM’S CREDIT CARDS AND EVEN CASHING CHECKS.  THEY ARE DESCRIBED AS TWO MALE BLACKS AND ONE FEMALE WHITE DRIVING A WHITE NEWER MODEL EXTENDED CAB NISSAN FRONTIER.  THE FINANCIAL FRAUD RESULTING FROM THESE THEFTS SPANS FROM LEXINGTON TO LOUISVILLE.

Maryiah Coleman Double Homicide

ON SEPTEMBER 7TH AT 10:50PM OFFICERS RESPONDED TO MATADOR NORTH APARTMENTS LOCATED AT 1053 WINBURN DRIVE REGARDING SHOTS FIRED.  UPON ARRIVAL, POLICE LOCATED THE VICTIM FACE DOWN BY THE FRONT ENTRACE TO THE COMPLEX SUFFERING FROM A GUN SHOT WOUND TO THE BACK.  SHE WAS PREGNANT AT THE TIME OF THE SHOOTING. TRAGICALLY, MOTHER AND CHILD DID NOT SURVIVE.

Oakwood Drive Burglaries

Outback Stolen Car

ON AUGUST 6TH AROUND 12:30PM, A MALE WHITE WALKED INTO THE TAKEOUT SIDE OF OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE LOCATED AT 127 W TIVERTON WAY.  THE RESTAURANT EMPLOYEE WAS BUSY IN ANOTHER PART OF THE BUSINESS.  HE STOLE HER PURSE AND USED HER KEY FOB TO LOCATE AND STEAL HER 2007 RED FORD MUSTANG WITH TAN SOFT TOP IN THE PARKING LOT.  HE HAS DISTINCTIVE TATTOOS.  THE PLATE FOR THE STOLEN CAR WAS LOCATED BY POLICE IN LOUISVILLE DAYS LATER.

Cabelas Gun Theft

ON JUNE 2ND, A MALE WHITE IN HIS 50S ENTERED THE NEW CABELAS STORE LOCATED AT 1510 CONSERVATION WAY.  HE PRETENDED TO BROWSE FOR GUNS AND HAD A STORE EMPLOYEE UNLOCK A CABINET TO VIEW A WEAPON.  WHEN THE EMPLOYEE BECAME DISTRACTED, THE SUSPECT STUCK THE GUN IN HIS REAR POCKET AND EXITED THE SHOWROOM.  HE WAS CLEARLY ATTEMPTING TO CONCEAL THE GUN UNDER HIS SHIRT.

Target Fraudulent Use

Thorntons Robbery
July 19, 2016

ON JUNE 27TH JUST AFTER 1AM, A MALE BLACK DRESSED IN A WHITE BUTTON DOWN SHIRT, WHITE HAT, AND BLACK PANTS ENTERED THE THORNTONS LOCATED AT 1120 WINCHESTER ROAD.  HE WAS ARMED WITH A HANDGUN AND IMMEDIATELY ORDERED THE CLERK TO RETRIEVE THE CASH FROM THE REGISTER.  ONCE THE CASH WAS IN HAND, HE ORDERED THE CLERK TO LIE ON THE FLOOR AND COUNT TO 60 WHILE HE FLED.

N Lime and 7th Shooting

ON JUNE 26TH AT 6AM A VICTIM WAS LET OUT OF AN UBER NEAR THE CORNER OF 7TH AND N LIMESTONE.  HE WAS APPROACHED BY 3 MALE BLACKS IN THEIR LATE TEENS OR EARLY 20s.  THEY SUBSEQUENTLY ROBBED THE VICTIM AND SHOT HIM MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN HE TRIED TO FIGHT THEM OFF.  THE VICTIM SUSTAINED LIFE THREATENING INJURIES BUT ULTIMATELY SURVIVED. 



Pandora Ring Theft

On June 5th, two subjects entered the Pandora store in Fayette Mall and found a set of keys that had been left in a locked cabinet.  The male subject stole the keys and later returned with a female.  While the female distracted the clerk, the male accessed a secured display and stole an entire tray of ladies rings valued at over $20,000.

On the evening of June 13th, this subject was caught on camera entering the Planet Fitness on Bryan Station Road and the LA Fitness on Wellington Way.  He accessed the locker rooms and took valuables and car keys from unsecured lockers.  Once back outside, he accessed the cars and stole more valuables.

Red Roof Inn Robbery

On February 21st of this year, a large man entered the Red Roof Inn and robbed the front desk clerk with a knife.  He had come in earlier in the day and asked about a room and returned later to rob her.  He is described as 6` 300lbs, possibly glasses and scruffy beard.  He was wearing a blue hoodie and khaki pants and escaped in a tan car with a sun roof.

On May 5th just after midnight, this subject entered the Centenary Church located at 2800 Tates Creek Rd with a stolen key card and took cash, gift cards, and other valuable items.  Lexington Police are doing everything we can to get this person identified and brought to justice.

Trailer Thefts

On May 1st just after 8am, this truck is seen pulling into a secured lot located at 5801 Kingpost Ct off of Blue Sky Pkwy near the interstate in Fayette County.  The suspect is seen on camera hitching up to a 24` flat bed utility trailer and towing it away.  The trailer is valued at $3,500.  The suspect vehicle is described as black GMC extended cab pickup with white signs on both sides.  There have been several other thefts this same suspect is responsible for.

Double Bank Robbery

There is a $10,000 reward being offered for information leading to an arrest in this case. On April 18th, a subject attempted to rob the Peoples Exchange Bank on Richmond Rd. After an unsuccessful attempt, he then robbed the 5/3 Bank on Bryan Station Road. A red dye pack exploded as he fled. He was spotted driving a green Kia Sorento.
