7/28/2015 - Jared`s Galleria Burglary

On June 19 at 8:00pm, Officers were dispatched to Jared`s Galleria of Jewelry located at 111 W Reynolds Road regarding a burglary.  Upon arrival, they learned three male blacks armed with a large hammer entered the store and smashed the glass cases stealing approximately 50 diamonds valued at well in excess of $10,000.  The stolen getaway vehicle was located abandoned a short distance away on Nicholasville Road.

7/21/2015 - The Lafayette Jewel Thief

On July 8th around 8pm Lexington Police responded to The Lafayette, a senior citizens community, located on Mason Headley Road regarding a series of thefts.  Officers learned that a suspect was observed pulling on several apartment doors moving down the hallway.  When confronted by a witness, the suspect could not explain her presence in the building.  The witness attempted to walk the suspect to security and the suspect fled out the front door and began speaking Spanish on her cellular phone.  The witness was able to snap a photo of the suspect before she was picked up by an escape vehicle with unknown out of state registration plates.  Later that evening, victims residing in the building began realizing their jewelry was missing.

JUST BEFORE 5AM A SUBJECT ENTERED THE GAS STATION ARMED WITH A LARGE KNIFE.  HE PRESENTED THE KNIFE TO THE CLERK AND DEMANDED ALL OF THE CASH FROM THE REGISTER.  THE CLERK COMPLIED AND THE SUSPECT FLED THE SCENE PRIOR TO OFFICERS ARRIVAL.

7/7/2015 - Kirklevington Vehicle Break InsSOLVED

IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF JUNE 16, 2015 THE VICTIM CAME OUTSIDE TO DISCOVER SOMEONE HAD THROWN A ROCK THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD OF HER VEHICLE CAUSING OVER FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS IN DAMAGE.  THE SUSPECT(S) USED THE HOLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND STOLE THE VICTIMS WALLET FROM THE VEHICLE.  THE SUSPECT(S) THEN USED THE VICTIM’S STOLEN CREDIT CARDS NEARBY AND WAS CAPTURED ON CAMERA.  THERE HAVE BEEN MANY OTHER VEHICLE BREAK-INS IN THE AREA.

ONE YEAR AGO ON JULY 6, 2014 AT APPROXIMATELY 3PM POLICE RECEIVED A CALL OF SHOTS FIRED IN THE AREA OF GOODLOE AND RACE ST.  UPON ARRIVAL, OFFICERS LOCATED THE BODY OF AMANDA FRANCO ON THE FRONT PORCH OF 233 RACE ST.  SHE SUSTAINED GUNSHOT WOUNDS TO HER TORSO AND HEAD.  OFFICERS ATTEMPTED CPR AND SHE WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BUT TRAGICALLY DID NOT SURVIVE.

6/23/2015 - Theft and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card SuspectSOLVED

ON JANUARY 5, A VICTIM’S WALLET WAS STOLEN.  IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER, A SUSPECT IS OBSERVED USING THE VICTIM’S STOLEN CREDIT CARDS AT 6 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT LEXINGTON.  THIS SUSPECT IS WANTED FOR QUESTIONING IN RELATED CASES.

ON FRIDAY MAY 22 AT 11PM, TWO MALE BLACK SUBJECTS ENTERED THE SIR PIZZA AT 2604 RICHMOND ROAD AND ATTEMPTED TO ROB THE STORE.  ONE SUBJECT IMPLIED HE HAD A WEAPON BY PLACING HIS HAND IN HIS POCKET WHILE THE OTHER ASSAULTED A FEMALE CUSTOMER AND ATTEMPTED TO STEAL HER WALLET.  THE VICTIM SCREAMED SUBSEQUENTLY SCARING THE SUSPECTS AWAY.

6/9/2015 - Chase Bank Robbery

ON FRIDAY 05/29/2015 AT 9:30AM, A SUBJECT DESCRIBED AS MALE BLACK, LATE 30S 6’1” 180LBS WITH SHOULDER LENGTH DREADLOCKS ENTERED THE CHASE BANK AT 2590 RICHMOND RD.  HE JUMPED THE TELLER DOOR AND IMMEDIATELY DEMANDED CASH FROM ONE OF THE TELLERS.  WHEN SHE HESITATED OPENING THE DRAWER, HE SHOCKED HER IN THE BACK MULTIPLE TIMES WITH A STUN GUN.  THE SUSPECT THEN HELPED HIMSELF TO TWO OF THE TELLER DRAWERS AND STUFFED THE MONEY INTO A BLACK BACKPACK BEFORE FLEEING THE BANK.  HE WAS DESCRIBED AS WEARING A GRAY HAT, GRAY BANDANA, GRAY ZIPPER JACKET, GRAY SWEATPANTS, BLACK SHOES, AND LARGE DARK SUNGLASSES.  THE SUSPECT WAS LAST SEEN JUMPING A RETAINING WALL BEHIND THE CHOPHOUSE ON RICHMOND RD DURING HIS ESCAPE.

5/27/2015 - Public Library Sex Offender

ON MARCH 10 AND MAY 2, 2015 AT APPROXIMATELY 2:00PM THE DOWNTOWN LEXINGTON PUBLIC LIBRARY HAS BEEN THE LOCATION OF A SUBJECT CAUGHT MASTURBATING WHILE STARING AT CHILDREN.  THE SUSPECT WAS OBSERVED MOVING THROUGH ROWS ON THE 2ND FLOOR LOOKING AT PATRONS AND CHILDREN FROM BETWEEN BOOKS AND PLEASURING HIMSELF.  BY THE TIME SECURITY WAS NOTIFIED AND RESPONDED, THE SUSPECT HAD FLED.  HE WAS CAPTURED ON VIDEO SURVEILLANCE.

5/26/2015 - Victorias Secret Thefts

FOR THE PAST TWO MONTHS, A RING OF THIEVES HAVE BEEN TARGETING VICTORIAS SECRET STORES IN LEXINGTON, LOUSIVILLE, AND SOUTHERN INDIANA.  DURING EACH THEFT, BETWEEN 2 AND 4 FEMALE BLACK SUBJECTS ENTER THE STORE CARRYING LARGE BAGS.  THEY LOAD UP THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN MERCHANDISE IN UNDER A MINUTE AND FLEE THE STORE.
