ON SUNDAY JANUARY 7TH A FEMALE WHITE BROKE INTO THE SIDE WINDOW OF 453 SHAWNEE AVENUE BELONGING TO STUDIO PLAYERS - LEXINGTON COMMUNITY THEATRE.  ONCE INSIDE, THE SUSPECT BEGAN LOOKING THROUGH DRAWERS UNTIL SHE FOUND CHECKS AND A GIFT CARD.  SHE REMAINED INSIDE THE BUSINESS FOR SEVERAL HOURS DANCING, AND EVEN MADE HERSELF COFFEE AND POPCORN.  SHE WAS DISCOVERED BY THE BUSINESS OWNER AND FLED THE SCENE.

1/22/2018 - Porch Pirates - Theft of Packages

THROUGHOUT DECEMBER JUST PRIOR TO CHRISTMAS, SEVERAL SUSPECTS WERE CAUGHT ON HOME SECURITY CAMERAS STEALING CHRISTMAS CARDS AND PACKAGES FROM FRONT PORCHES.  THESE SUBJECTS CAN COMMIT DOZENS OF SIMILAR THEFTS IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.  THESE SUSPECTS USUALLY OPERATE ALONE AND THESE INCIDENTS ARE NOT BELIEVED TO BE RELATED.

1/15/2018 - Stolen Truck from Rescue Mission

ON NEW YEARS EVE AROUND 7:30PM, TWO SUBJECTS ENTERED THE PARKING LOT OF THE RESCUE MISSION LOCATED AT 649 N LIMESTONE.  THEY WERE BOTH WEARING TAN COATS WITH HOODS PARTIALLY CONCEALING THEIR FACES AND BACKPACKS.  ONE SUBJECT KNOCKED AT THE DOOR AND RECEIVED NO RESPONSE.  THEY PROCEEDED TO LOOK THROUGH VEHICLES IN THE PARKING LOT AND FOUND A 2000 DODGE RAM WAS UNSECURED AND A SPARE SET OF KEYS WERE LEFT IN THE CONSOLE.  BOTH SUBJECTS PROMPTLY ENTERED THE TRUCK AND DROVE IT AWAY.

ON OCTOBER 30TH AROUND 1:45PM, A MALE AND FEMALE SUSPECT ENTERED THE PRO SHOP AT LAKESIDE GOLF COURSE LOCATED AT 3725 RICHMOND ROAD.  THEY SPLIT UP AND BEGAN STEALING ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR AND DISPLAYS.  THEY WERE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH TWO GOLF CLUBS AND 10 BOXES OF GOLF BALLS.  THEY FLED IN A BLACK FOUR DOOR PASSENGER CAR POSSIBLY A HONDA OR TOYOTA.

12/26/2017 - Speedway Cigarette Theft

ON AUGUST 14TH AT 11:30PM, A SUBJECT ENTERED THE SPEEDWAY LOCATED AT 900 WINCHESTER ROAD.  HE OBSERVED EMPLOYEES RESTOCKING CARTONS OF CIGARETTES AND PROCEEDED TO STEAL AN ENTIRE BOX OF 36 CARTONS FROM BEHIND THE COUNTER.  THE SUSPECT FLED AND SCALED A FENCE TO ESCAPE AT THE REAR OF THE PARKING LOT.

12/18/2017 - Coordinated Shoplifting RingSOLVED

ON OCTOBER 30TH AROUND 6PM, LOSS PREVENTION AT DILLARDS IN FAYETTE MALL BEGAN WATCHING 3 SUBJECTS INSIDE THE STORE.  A MALE SUBJECT WAS ROUNDING UP EXPENSIVE CLOTHING WHILE TWO FEMALES WERE TROLLING AND WATCHING EMPLOYEES.  THE MALE SUBJECT PLACED OVER $1100 IN CLOTHING ON THE COUNTER AND THEN ASKED THE CLERK A QUESTION LEADING HER AWAY FROM THE REGISTER.  THE FEMALES TOOK THE CLOTHING AND EXITED THE STORE.

STARTING IN EARLY OCTOBER, LEXINGTON FINANCIAL CRIMES DETECTIVES BEGAN RECEIVING REPORTS OF VICTIMS HAVING THEIR POCKETS AND PURSES PICKED.  THE SUSPECT TARGETED WOMEN THAT WERE SHOPPING AT GROCERY STORES AND OLDER MEN AT THE KEENELAND RACE TRACK DURING THE FALL MEET.  THE SUSPECT WAS CAUGHT ON CAMERA PURCHASING GIFT CARDS AND IS BELIEVED TO HAVE TIES TO THE LOUISVILLE AREA.

ON JULY 3RD AROUND 2:30PM, LOSS PREVENTION AT DILLARDS IN FAYETTE MALL STOPPED A SUSPECT FOR STEALING JEANS AND COLOGNE.  AFTER BEING ESCORTED TO THE LOSS PREVENTION OFFICE, THE SUSPECT BECAME COMBATIVE AND SHOVED PAST THE EMPLOYEES.  HE SPAT ON THEM AS HE FLED.

11/27/2017 - Lexington Catholic Theft and Fraud

ON THE EVENING OF SEPTEMBER 25TH, LEXINGTON CATHOLIC WAS HAVING A BASKETBALL GAME AND SEVERAL STUDENTS WERE IN ATTENDANCE.  THE VICTIM DID NOT LOCK HER CAR DOORS AND LEFT HER PURSE IN HER CAR.  HER PARENTS BEGAN TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATIONS OF MULTIPLE FRAUDULENT PURCHASES ON MULTIPLE CREDIT CARDS.  SURVEILLANCE IMAGES CAPTURED THIS SUSPECT COMMITTING THE FRAUDULENT PURCHASES.

11/20/2017 - Local Hospital TheftSOLVED

A COUPLE FROM OUT OF TOWN WERE IN LEXINGTON HAVING A BABY AT A LOCAL HOSPITAL IN LATE OCTOBER.  SOMEONE ALLEGEDLY GAINED ACCESS TO THEIR HOSPITAL ROOM AND STOLE CREDIT CARDS FROM THE VICTIM’S PURSE.  THE SUSPECT USED THE STOLEN CREDIT CARDS TO MAKE ONLINE AND IN STORE FRUADULENT PURCHASES AT TOYS R US AND LOWES.  THE SUSPECT WAS CAUGHT ON CAMERA USING THE STOLEN CREDIT CARDS.
