Crime Awareness

DATE OF RELEASE: August 26, 2011

SUBJECT: Scam Alert

The Lexington Division of Police is warning residents to be aware of individuals posing as magazine salespeople.

The Division of Police has received multiple reports, in the past few days, from citizens who were solicited, and in some cases harassed, by salespeople claiming to work for “D&T Connection Incorporated” and “DNT Connection Incorporated”. In each case the salesperson told the citizen they were selling magazine subscriptions for “charity”. However, the salespeople have no peddler’s permit, legitimate identification or documentation supporting these claims.

Citizens are asked to contact police immediately if they are approached by an individual representing themselves as a “D&T Connection Incorporated” or “DNT Connection Incorporated” salesperson.
